Volleyball to Open Season at K-State Invitational

RALEIGH – NC State volleyball begins its 2022 season on Friday at the K-State Invitational hosted by Kansas State. The Wolfpack's first match is scheduled for Friday Aug. 26 at 11am against Florida A&M, followed by an 8:30pm meeting with Kansas State. Play will wrap up Saturday morning against Sam Houston at 11am.

- Friday's meeting will serve as the first ever between the two programs.
- The contest will be one the third meeting for the two teams.
- The Wildcats won the initial meeting in 1996, 3-1.
- The Pack won the last meeting in 2019, 3-1 (23-25, 25-14, 25-20, 25-19).

2022 Season Outlook
- The Pack was tabbed in the top 20 for its 2022 recruiting class by VolleyballMag.com
- Head coach Luka Slabe enters his third season at the helm, compiling a 24-22 record the past two seasons
- Slabe and staff added six freshman to the roster – Gabriella Karman, Ava Brizard, Savannah Woods, Courtney Bryant, Lily Cropper, and Elaisa Villar
- During the off season, the Pack added five transfers to the roster – Vanja Bukilic, Martyna Leoniak, Priscilla Hernandez, Naomi Cabello, and Madison Williams
- Graduate Priscilla Hernandez joins younger sister Saskia Hernandez, a sophomore with the Pack, in her final season of collegiate volleyball – she spent the first four seasons at fellow ACC school, Miami
- The Pack was tabbed to finish seventh in the preseason ACC Coaches Poll, as released Tuesday Aug, 23
