Pack Sets Program Record with 16 All-ACC Academic Honorees

GREENSBORO, N.C. - A program-record 16 members of the NC State track & field programs have earned spots on the 2022 All-ACC Outdoor Track & Field Academic Team, as announced by the conference office on Friday.
2022 All-ACC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Academic Team
- Dominique Clairmonte, Gr. - Teaching/History
- Michelle Cobb, Gr. - Physiology/Nutrition Science
- Allie Hays, Gr. - Natural Resources
- Mariah Howlett, Sr. - Business Administration
- Nevada Mareno, Sr. - Fashion & Textile Management
- Gionna Quarzo, Jr. - Elementary Education
- Savannah Shaw, Gr. - Communication/Business Administration
- Marlee Starliper, Jr. - Psychology
- Katelyn Tuohy, So. - Business Administration
- Anna Vess, Gr. - Teaching/Biological Sciences
Hays, Mareno, Quarzo, Shaw, Starliper, Tuohy and Vess each represented NC State at the 2022 NCAA Championships. Hays, Quarzo, Starliper and Tuohy each posted All-American performances in their respective events. Clairmonte, Cobb, Howlett, Shaw, Starliper, Tuohy and Vess each attained All-ACC honors at the 2022 conference meet as well.
Cobb's honor is the seventh of career, and she is closely followed by Shaw's fifth career accolade. Tuohy and Vess earn the honors for the fifth time in their careers. Quarzo and Clairmonte attain the laurels for the third time while Hays' garners her second honors. Howlett, Mareno and Starliper are each first-time honorees.

- Joshua Brockman, Sr. - Business Administration
- Von Douglas, Gr. - Public Administration
- Brett Gardner, Sr. - Mechanical Engineering
- Nate Kawalec, Sr. - Business Administration
- Cameron Murray, Sr. - Communication
- Ian Shanklin, Sr. - Business Administration
Brockman and Murray qualified for their first career NCAA Championships with the 2022 outdoor season, both competing at the national meet in the 110m hurdles. All six honorees competed at the NCAA East Regional for the Pack.
With the accolades, Douglas is a four-time All-ACC academic honoree. Murray's and Shanklin's honors are the third of their respective careers while Gardner and Brockman attain the laurels for the second time. Kawalec's are the first of his career.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
The ACC honor roll recognizes all league student-athletes with a GPA of 3.0 for the current academic year is set to be released in July.
