GREENSBORO, N.C. - Sophomore Katelyn Tuohy has been named ACC Women's Outdoor Track Performer of the Year, as announced by the conference office on Thursday.
The honors are the first of Tuohy's career and mark the second consecutive season in which the winner of the award has been a member of the Wolfpack.
The Stony Point, N.Y., native won her first individual NCAA title in 2022, bringing home the trophy in the outdoor 5000m. Her 15:18.39 was the third-fastest ever run in the event at an NCAA Championships meet, and with the first-place finish she additionally brought home First Team All-American honors.
Tuohy won the 1500m ACC individual title and placed second in the 5000m at the conference championships meet, adding to a season in which she never finished lower than second place in any race. Both placements earned her First Team All-ACC accolades.
During the season, she posted times in the 1500m and 5000m that rank in the top 10 in collegiate history and was part of the 4x1500m relay squad that ran the second-fastest all-time collegiate mark. Her 1500m personal best of 4:06.84 ranks seventh while her 5000m mark of 15:14.61 ranks eighth in collegiate history. Both times are school records, and the 5000m time set an ACC record.
In 2022, Tuohy became the first member of the Wolfpack, man or woman, to be named to The Bowerman Watch List when she made an appearance on the May 18 edition of the list.
