Aisha Weixlmann Tosses One Hit Shutout

RALEIGH – NC State softball pitcher Aisha Weixlmann put on a show on Wednesday night, leading the Wolfpack to a 1-0 win over Longwood in non-conference play at Dail Softball Stadium.
The Pack (26-13) tied its win mark from the 2021 season and improved to 3-0 on the season when playing on Wednesday.
Weixlmann (11-5) recorded her second one-hit shutout this year in her fifth complete game of the season. She tallied seven strikeouts on the day, marking her 10th outing of five or more strikeouts.
Brittany Jackson recorded the sole hit for NC State, which was a big one as she hit an RBI triple in the fifth that allowed Maddy Schmeiser to score from first.
The Lancers (16-19) best chance at scoring came in the fifth inning when Longwood was able to place runners on second and third with two outs but Weixlmann forced a ground out to end the threat.
