RALEIGH – NC State women's tennis (14-1, 2-0) concludes a packed five-day stretch of home matches on Tuesday afternoon as it hosts in-state rival Wake Forest (9-4, 1-1 ACC) in a top-15 matchup. First serve between the second-ranked Wolfpack and the 14th-ranked Demon Deacons is set for 2 p.m. at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.
FAN INFO:
The first 50 fans at Tuesday's match will receive a free pair of custom NC State tennis sunglasses. Attendance is free for all of NC State's home matches, and fans are required to wear masks for indoor competitions per NC State's University Community Standards. Tuesday's match will be played outdoors unless otherwise communicated. Fans who attend will need to obtain a virtual parking permit.
MILESTONE VICTORY:
Simon Earnshaw enters Tuesday's match tied as the winningest coach in program history, and a Wolfpack victory would officially give him the most wins of any NC State women's tennis head coach. Earnshaw has amassed 138 victories since taking the helm ahead of the 2014-15 season.
LAST TIME OUT:
NC State stepped into conference play over the weekend and took wins in both of its first two ACC matches of the year over Florida State (6-1) and No. 14 Miami (4-3). The Wolfpack also defeated Elon by a 7-0 score in its final non-conference matchup of the regular season on Sunday evening.
ACC SUCCESS:
The Wolfpack has secured 10+ league wins in each of the last two completed seasons, going 11-3 in ACC play in 2019 and 10-3 against conference opponents in 2021. NC State's 11 ACC wins in 2019 set a new program record.
COMING UP:
NC State will play its next four ACC matches on the road at Clemson (March 18), Georgia Tech (March 20), Boston College (March 25) and Syracuse (March 27).
