
Pack Finishes in a tie for the Tournament Title at Hootie at Bulls Bay

NC State finished in a tie for first with ETSU, MIssouri and tournament-host South Carolina
AWENDAW, S.C. - The NC State men's golf team claimed its third tournament title of the 2021-22 season Tuesday as it finished in a tie for first place at the Hootie at Bulls Bay.
The Pack started the day in a tie for second-place with Missouri, 10 shots back of South Carolina, but NC State, Mizzou and ETSU all made up the deficit to finish in a four-way tie with South Carolina at 20-under par.
The tournament win is the third this season for NC State and is the seventh for the Pack dating back to March 2021. The seven wins in the last two seasons are the most in back-to-back seasons for NC State since the program won nine tournament titles between the 1994-95 and 1995-96 seasons.
Head coach Press McPhaul is in his fifth season with the Pack and now has led the team to 11 tournament titles.
Spencer Oxendine led the Pack with a six-under par performance to finish in a tie for seventh place. It's the best finish of the season for the Fayetteville, N.C., naive and his third top-10 performance.
Maximilian Steinlecher was next for the Pack, one shot back of Oxendine in a tie for 11th place. Steinlechner has now finished under-par in all seven tournaments he's competed in for NC State this season.
Carter Graf completed his best performance of the season, finishing in 18th place at three-under par.
Easton Paxton was next for the Pack in a tie for 21st place at two-under par.
Ethan Choi rounded out the NC State lineup in a tie for 59th place at four-over par.
Brandon Einstein, competing as an individual, finished finished in a tie for 48th place at one-over par.
NC State returns to action Friday, April 8 when it hosts the Stitch Intercollegiate at Lonnie Poole Golf Course. Teams will play 36 holes on Friday before finishing the tournament with 18 holes on Saturday.
