Steinlechner Leads Pack at Suspended Stitch Intercolleigate

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State golfer Maximilian Steinlechner finished round one in a tie for third place to lead the Pack on day one of the Stitch Intercollegiate held at Lonnie Poole Golf Course.
The event was originally scheduled to play 36 holes on Friday, but two weather delays prevented that. The second round was suspended due to darkness and will be completed with the third round on Saturday.
NC State finished the first round in seventh place at four-over par.Â
Steinlechner shot a two-under par 70 to lead the Pack in the first round. The Innsbruck, Austria native is the leader in the suspended second round. Steinlechner has shot four-under through 12 holes and has a two-shot lead on the field at six-under par through the tourney.
Easton Paxton was next for the Pack in the first round, one shot back of Steinlechner in a tie for eighth place at one-under par.
The duo for NC State were the only two NC State golfers to go under-par in the opening round as only 17 of the 84 golfers in the tourney went under-par in the first round.
Spencer Oxendine is tied for 49th place after going three-over par and Carter Graf is one shot back of Oxendine in a tie for 56th place.
Ethan Choi rounded out the NC State lineup in a tie for 64th place.
The Pack also had four golfers competing as individuals on Friday. Brandon Einstein led that group with an even-par 72. Jake Wiktor is in a tie for 64th place, Jake Herring is in a tie for 73rd place and Thomas Deal is in 82nd place.
Notre Dame led the field after one round with a team score of four-under par. Duke is in second place, one shot back of the Fighting Irish. The College of Charleston is in third place, two shots back of the Blue Devils.
The suspended second round will begin at 8 a.m. with the pairings immediately starting the third and final rounds right after.
