SYRACUSE, N.Y. – No. 2 NC State women's tennis wrapped up a perfect weekend of action with a 6-1 road victory at Syracuse on Sunday afternoon.
With the win, the Wolfpack improved to 19-1 on the season and maintained its perfect record in ACC action by moving to 7-0 in league matches. NC State has now won nine matches in a row, with that streak starting on Feb. 20.
NC State got doubles wins on courts one and three to clinch the opening point, only dropping a single game between those two matches. After a forfeit on six, the Wolfpack then got straight-sets wins from Priska Nugroho and Amelia Rajecki to officially earn the win. Sophie Abrams and Abigail Rencheli also added three set victories with super tiebreakers to put the Pack's final tally at six points.
NC State returns home to welcome Triangle rivals Duke and North Carolina to the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center next weekend. The Wolfpack hosts the Blue Devils on Friday, April 1 at 5 p.m. and the Tar Heels at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 3. Those three Triangle teams are currently the top three squads in this year's ACC standings about halfway through league action.
