
Weixlmann Tosses One-Hit Shutout

RALEIGH – NC State softball's pitcher Aisha Weixlmann was unstoppable in the circle, helping the Wolfpack to a 2-0 win over Campbell in non-conference action on Tuesday night inside of Dail Softball Stadium.
The Pack (19-10) only needed two hits to hand the Camels (14-10) the loss and end its seven-game losing streak.
Weixlmann went the distance to earn her eighth win of the season, improving to 8-4. She recorded seven strikeouts while only allowing one hit in her seven innings of work.
NC State struck first in the second inning as Libby Whittaker stepped up to the plate as a pinch hitter and hit a single down the left field line that scored Michele Tarpey from second. The Wolfpack doubled its score in the sixth inning as Randi Farricker sent the first pitch she saw to deep left field to allow NC State to win, 2-0.
Campbell's biggest threat came in the second inning as the Camels were able to load the bases with two outs. Weixlmann recorded her second strikeout of the day to get out of the threat.
