#Pack9 Travels To Florida State This Weekend

RALEIGH – NC State baseball (10-6, 0-2 ACC) will play its first road conference series of the year this weekend when it makes the trip to No. 8 Florida State (11-5, 2-1 ACC) for a three-game set at Dick Howser Stadium in Tallahassee, Fla.
The teams will play Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m., and all three games will be broadcast on ACCNX with an audio stream on WKNC 88.1 and the Varsity Network App.

Saturday – RHP Matt Willadsen (NCSU) vs. LHP Bryce Hubbart (FSU)
Sunday – RHP Sam Highfill (NCSU) vs. LHP Ross Dunn (FSU)
LAST TIME OUT
NC State traveled to Elon for a midweek tilt on Tuesday and held off a late rally by the Phoenix to earn a 2-1 victory.
The Wolfpack scored both of its runs in the second inning and held the Phoenix to just two hits through seven innings. Elon pushed a late run across in the ninth and managed to put the game-winning run on base, but NC State was able to hold on and get the victory.
Wolfpack starting pitcher Logan Whitaker had a phenomenal outing on the mound, fanning five batters in 4.2 hitless innings in his second career start.
SERIES HISTORY
NC State and Florida State have met 109 times in program history with the Seminoles leading the all-time series, 75-34.
The last time the teams met was on May 20-22, 2021, in Raleigh, and NC State captured wins in the first two games to take the series. Game one was won in walk-off fashion when Luca Tresh hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth, and then the Pack held off a late rally by the Seminoles in game two to clinch the series with 6-4 wins. Florida State salvaged the series with a 15-11 victory in what was a slugfest between both squads.
The last time the teams played a series in Tallahassee was on May 17-19, 2018, and Florida State took the series with 4-3 (11 inn.) and 6-3 wins in the first two games, but NC State avoided the sweep with a 5-3 result in the finale.
NC State has won three of the last four series between the squads.
HOMECOMING
This weekend's series at Florida State will be a homecoming for associate head coach Chris Hart, as he played for the Seminoles from 1999-2003.
Hart played 195 games for the Seminoles, starting 116 and batting .271 with 23 doubles, two triples, seven home runs and 72 RBIs. Hart's four Florida State teams (1999, 2001-03) posted a combined record of 218-60 (.784) and appeared in the NCAA Super Regionals all four years. The Seminoles advanced to the College World Series in 1999 and 2000.
During his career at Florida State, Hart played every position on the field except for pitcher and center field.
