#24 Wolfpack Falls, 4-3, in Tight Battle with #7 Georgia

RALEIGH - The No. 24 NC State men's tennis team fell to No. 7 Georgia on Friday by a score of 4-3, fighting hard in a close match.

DOUBLES RECAP
While Georgia was the first team with a doubles win, it was the Wolfpack that came away with the doubles point. The Bulldogs tabbed the win on court three with Blake Croyder and Erik Grevelius' 6-2 win over Martins Rocens and Fons Van Sambeek.
Robin Catry and Luca Staeheli secured a win for the Pack on court two, giving up just a single game on the way to a 6-1 victory.
On court one, Yannai Barkai and Collin Shick won the doubles point and got their second top-30 doubles win of the season with a 6-2 win over No. 21 Philip Henning and Trent Bryde.
SINGLES RECAP
The Bulldogs got on the board in singles first with No. 32 Stewart's 6-1, 7-5 win over No. 36 Catry, a victory that was followed minutes later by Tristan McCormick's 6-4, 7-6(0) defeat of Staeheli.
Court one proved to be a battle between Rafa Izquierdo Luque and Georgia's No. 62 Bryde. Izquierdo Luque gutted out the tiebreaker win in the first set but fell to Bryde in the second. Ultimately, Izquierdo Luque was able to bring home the 7-6(4), 2-6, 6-2 ranked victory.
Rocens won his first set against No. 23 Henning but fell in a pair of tight second sets, dropping the match in a 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 decision.
The match came down to courts five and six. Braden Shick garnered a straight-set win over No. 119 Thomas Paulsell by a score of 6-4, 6-3 to even up the team score at three-all.
On court five, No. 110 Croyder took the first set, but Salvestre forced a tiebreaker in the second. The tiebreaker was back-and-forth, but Croyder came away with the 6-2, 7-6(10) win to clinch the match.
