
Track & Field Concludes First Day of Action at Virginia Tech Challenge, JDL DMR Invite

RALEIGH - The NC State track & field team opened the final weekend of regular-season competition by taking down a school record and earning several podium placements.
DISTANCE
Representing the Wolfpack at the JDL DMR Invite, the efforts of Sam Bush, Jada Griffin, Anna Vess and Savannah Shaw resulted in a DMR school record with a time of 11:05.85. Bush led off with the 1200m leg, running a 3:23.400 and was followed by Griffin's 400m leg (54.587). Vess ran the 800m (2:08.996) while Shaw anchored things with a 4:38.865 in the mile leg. The relay squad's finish was good for third place overall.
JUMPS
In the men's long jump, the Wolfpack claimed two spots on the podium. Jamar Davis placed first with a final mark of 7.55m (24'9.25"). William Sistruck also ended on the podium, jumping 7.01m (23'0") for third place.
