#6 NC State Ready for Action at ITA National Team Indoors

RALEIGH – The sixth-ranked NC State women's tennis team (8-0) is prepped for the third ITA National Team Indoor Championship appearance in program history. The Wolfpack heads to Madison, Wis., to compete in the 16-team tournament Feb. 11-14.
NC State earned a spot in the bracket by winning its four-team regional during ITA Kickoff Weekend two weeks ago. The Pack defeated Penn State and Wake Forest by 4-0 scores to punch its ticket to ITA Indoors.
The tournament is single elimination, with the championship match set to be played on Monday, Feb. 14 at 1 p.m. EST. All teams are guaranteed to play at least three matches over the weekend through either the main or consolation draw.
NC State is set to face 14th-ranked Auburn in the opening round at 1 p.m. EST on Friday.
PACK IN THE RANKINGS:
NC State has four players ranked in singles as of the Feb. 9 release of the standings - No. 12 Jaeda Daniel, No. 32 Alana Smith, No. 40 Abigail Rencheli and No. 124 Priska Nugroho.
Three Wolfpack doubles tandems are also ranked - No. 10 Daniel and Smith, No. 30 Daniel and Nell Miller and No. 51 Sara Nayar and Nugroho. Each of those three pairs have dropped just one doubles match apiece this season.
WIN STREAKS:
In addition to the Pack's eight-match winning streak to start the season, NC State's players have compiled a few impressive individual streaks. Sophie Abrams has not lost in her six singles matches in dual match play. Daniel is on a five-match winning streak in singles, with three of those victories coming over top-35 opponents. In doubles, both Daniel and Miller (6-0) and Nayar and Nugroho (7-0) have not lost a match in dual action.
PACK AGAINST RANKED OPPONENTS:
NC State is 3-1 against top-25 opponents this year with victories against No. 23 Princeton, No. 10 Ohio State and No. 21 Tennessee.
