RALEIGH Fresh off her NCAA cross country national title, Katelyn Tuohy got her indoor season off to a hot start.
Â
Tuohy set a school record in the 5000 meters at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston, finishing in 15:15.92. That time was good enough for a school record. Tuohy's performance earned her the ACC Women's Track Performer of the Week.Â
Â
The sophomore from Stony Point, NY, was the first collegiate athlete to cross the finish line at the event. Her time ranks ninth all-time in college history. It's second in ACC history behind the 15:51.21 time set by Molly Seidel of Notre Dame in 2016.
Â
Last season Tuohy won the ACC indoor championship in the 5000m.
