#8 Wolfpack Beats Wake Forest to Punch Ticket to ITA National Team Indoors

With the win over the Demon Deacons, the Pack moved to 5-0 on the season and will play in the 16-team national tournament in two weeks after advancing out of its ITA Kickoff Weekend regional.
The Wolfpack once again opened up with a strong start in doubles play, earning the point for the fifth time in as many matches this season.
Jaeda Daniel and Nell Miller used a 3-1 break to hold steady, recording a ranked win over No. 15 Samantha Martinelli and Casie Wooten by a 6-1 score on court two.
The Wolfpack pair of Sara Nayar and Priska Nugroho followed suit with a break to go up 4-3 that eventually led to a 6-3 decision and the clincehd doubles point. Battling down from 0-2, the tandem of Abigail Rencheli and Amelia Rajecki, facing the second-ranked duo in the nation, had their match halted at a score of 5-5.
NC State carried that momentum into singles plays seizing three-straight decisions for the sweep. Leading off, Nugroho used 3-2 and 3-1 breaks in the first and second sets to claim a win over Martinelli, giving the Wolfpack an early 2-0 lead.
Daniel extended the Wolfpack lead to 3-0 after a 6-3, 6-2 final. After being down 1-3 in the first set, Daniel won five straight games to capture the frame. She then carried over that momentum into the second set, winning another five games in a row to bring the total to eleven before her eventual victory over No. 35 Carolyn Campana.
On court two, Rencheli sealed the victory for the Wolfpack, defeating Anna Campana 6-3, 6-2. The Sarasota, Florida, native used a 2-0 break to clinch the first set and won five-straight games to take command of the second.
Before heading to Madison, Wis., for the national tournament Feb. 11-14, NC State will make the trip to Tennessee on Friday, Feb. 4 and will host South Carolina and East Carolina on Sunday, Feb. 6.
