No. 15 Rifle Opens Spring Season at Army

RALEIGH – No. 15 NC State rifle begins the spring portion of its 2021-22 schedule on Sunday against No. 5 Kentucky before battling No. 14 Army on Monday.
Both matches will begin at 9 a.m. and are hosted by Army in West Point, N.Y. Live results can be found at NCAARifle.org.
Sunday's matchup against Kentucky will serve as the Wolfpack's fourth top-five opponent this season as the team has taken on No. 2 West Virginia, No. 4 Ole Miss and No. 1 Alaska Fairbanks.
LAST TIME OUT
To wrap up the fall slate, then-No. 14 NC State fell short to No. 1 Alaska Fairbanks, 4734-4675 on Nov. 13.
Despite the loss, NC State posted a solid outing as the team recorded a season-high 2311 smallbore score. Individually, Addy Burrow recorded a career-best 597 air rifle score that tied the second-highest individual air rifle total in program history. Burrow shot a 579 smallbore to give her a season-high 1176 aggregate score to pace the Wolfpack.
SCOUTING KENTUCKY
Kentucky wrapped up its fall schedule on a high note as the Wildcats filled up the top five individual performances of the match leading to a 4724-4674 victory over Akron at home. UK's 4724 team aggregate score was its third-highest total in the fall.
Kentucky's Will Shaner currently is second in the NCAA individually, averaging an 1186.75 aggregate score.

Army is coming off a close 4672-4653 loss to Ohio State on Nov. 14 held at West Virginia. With the loss, the Black Knights dropped to 0-4 on the season.
