Henes, Kemp Record Impressive Performances in USATF Olympic Trials 5K Final

EUGENE, Ore. - Elly Henes and NC State track & field program alumna Erika Kemp competed in the women's 5000m final at the USA Track & Field Olympic Trials on Monday, tabbing impressive runs.
Henes, competing in her first Olympic Trials, placed sixth in the event final as she ran a 15:47.73. She was the only collegiate runner to make it to the final.
Kemp recorded a 16th-place finish in the race, posting a 16:22.27. Both women are additionally slated to compete in the women's 10000m final Saturday, June 26.

The Olympic Trials will break Tuesday and Wednesday, starting action again Thursday, June 24. That day will see current and former members of the Wolfpack in the men's 1500m semifinals (Graham Crawford, '16) and men's 5000m semifinals (Ryan Hill, '13, and Ian Shanklin).
