#Pack9 Drops Super Regional Opener To Top-Ranked Arkansas

Jose Torres put the Pack on the board with a solo shot to left field in the second inning, his eighth of the year, but the Razorbacks responded in their half of the frame with three runs on a Robert Moore two-run homer and Jalen Battles RBI double.
Arkansas plated four more in the third on Cullen Smith's grand slam, taking a 7-1 lead through three complete. In the fifth, Charlie Welch belted a two-run home run and Casey Opitz drove in a run with a single to left field to extend its lead by three more.
The Razorbacks continued to add to its lead in the sixth on Brady Slavens' 2-RBI double, Welch's single through the right side and three bases-loaded walks, then scored in the eighth on a bases-loaded walk, wild pitch and three-run home run by Moore.
Austin Murr drove in a late run, bringing pinch hitter Eddie Eisert around from first with an RBI triple in the ninth to make the score 21-2. Murr led the team with a 2-for-5 outing, which was his third consecutive multi-hit outing.
The Pack used seven pitchers in the contest, including five freshmen who made their postseason debuts on Friday.
NC State will look to even the series Saturday at 3 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and there will be a free audio stream on WKNC 88.1 and the TuneIn App.
