Chmiel Garners First Team All-America Honors at NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. - The NC State women's track & field team began NCAA Outdoor Championships action on Thursday, posting impressive performances in the 10000m and 3000m steeplechase.
Kelsey Chmiel competed at the NCAA Outdoor Championships for the first time in her career and recorded an eighth-place finish in the women's 10000m. Her time of 32:45.83 improved her personal best by nearly one minute and was good for the second-fastest mark in program history.
Hannah Steelman represented the Wolfpack in the women's 3000m steeplechase, clocking a 9:46.09. She placed 14th overall in the event, good to earn Second Team All-America accolades. The time was her second-quickest mark of the season in the 3000m steeplechase.
