NC State finishes in a tie for fourth place at NCAA Kingston Springs Regional

KINGSTON SPRINGS, Tenn. – The NC State men's golf team finished in a tie for fourth place at the 2021 NCAA Kingston Springs Regional held at the Golf Club of Tennessee and has advanced to the NCAA Championship.
The Pack is advancing to the NCAA Championship for the first time since 2018 and the 19th time in program history.
NC State shot a team-score of even-par on Wednesday to hang onto a top-five finish. The Pack's 54-hole team score of three-under is the program's fifth-best 54-hole NCAA Regional score.
Vanderbilt won the regional by 11 shots over second-place Arkansas. San Diego State finished in third place, two shots ahead of Clemson and NC State.
Those five teams all will advance to the NCAA Championship.
Maximilian Steinlechner led the Pack in the Regional, finishing in a tie for eighth place with a 54-hole score of 4-under par.
The Innsbruck, Austria native has now finished in the top-15 in seven consecutive tournaments and has a top-10 finish in six of the last seven tournaments.
Christian Salzer is next for the Pack with a 54-hole score of two-under par to finish in a tie for 13th place. Salzer had a clutch finish for NC State, birdieing his final two holes on Wednesday to finish with a 69 and help keep the Pack in the top-five.
Easton Paxton and Benjamin Shipp tied for 28th place at two-over par.
Carter Graf rounded out the NC State lineup in a tie for 51st place at nine-over par.
Thirty teams have advanced to the NCAA Championship wich will be decided May 28-June 2 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
