
Pack Set to Host Duke Saturday Night for Home Finale

NC State will celebrate Senior Night and recognize the career of George Asomani

RALEIGH – The NC State men's soccer team (3-8-2) is set to host its final home match of the season as it takes on Duke (4-9-2) on Saturday night. Kickoff between the Wolfpack and the Blue Devils is scheduled for 7 p.m. from Dail Soccer Stadium, and the match will be broadcast on ACCNX.
Due to health and safety recommendations and current state guidelines, attendance at NC State men's soccer home competitions is currently limited to a pass list of player and coach guests only. No tickets are available to the general public.
ASOMANI SENIOR NIGHT
Saturday's match will mark Senior Day for Wolfpack midfielder George Asomani. Asomani has spent the last two seasons on the NC State squad after transferring in from Monroe College prior to the 2019 campaign. As a member of the Pack, Asomani has played and started in 30 matches. He clocked 90+ minutes in 23 of those games, attempted 18 shots and has scored one goal in his career. He was a 2020 Preseason Watch List honoree, and in January, he was selected by the San Jose Earthquakes in the second round of the MLS Draft.

• NC State earned its first conference win of the season last weekend as it defeated Syracuse 2-1 in overtime.
• Junior midfielder Aidan Foster scored the golden goal in the 94th minute to secure the victory. The goal was his first of the season.
• Pablo Pedregosa also notched his first goal of the year, with his in the 15th minute and serving as the equalizer after Syracuse scored less than two minutes into the outing.
• The game marked the Pack's first overtime win since 2018 and was its first time winning a game this season during which it gave up a goal.

• Saturday marks the 84th overall meeting and the third matchup of the season between NC State and Duke. NC State is 21-54-8 all time against Duke.
• NC State has picked up just one victory over Duke in the last 11 tries, with that win coming in 2-1 fashion during the 2019 ACC Tournament first round.
• The Pack endured a 3-1 defeat to the Blue Devils on October 9, which was the last meeting between the two squads. The teams also met on Sept. 26 for the regular-season opener, with Duke coming away with the 1-0 2OT win after 109:26 of scoreless action.
