Volleyball Resumes ACC Play Against #14 Notre Dame, Miami

SOUTH BEND, IND. – NC State volleyball is set to resume ACC play this weekend, with a pair of matches in South Bend, Ind. The Wolfpack will first take on #14 Notre Dame March 5 at 7 p.m. on ACCNX followed by a neutral site showdown against Miami, March 6 at 4 p.m.
NC State (5-4, 4-4 ACC) is one of the hottest teams in the ACC, riding a five match win streak. The five-straight sits second in the conference behind Georgia Tech who has won seven in a row. The Wolfpack ended the fall semester with four wins against Virginia and Virginia Tech, including nine-straight set wins as NC State swept the Hokies.
The dual attack of Jade Parchment and Melissa Evans has been a force to defend against. Parchment and Evans average 3.94 and 3.78 kills per set, respectively. Kristen McDaniel has done a tremendous job running the offense, as she ranks fifth in the ACC with 10.00 assists per set. McDaniel has a total of 350 assists through nine matches.
The Wolfpack's defense has held opponents off balance, holding them to a .161 hitting percentage, the third best in the ACC. Both McDaniel and Kaylee Frazier are averaging more than three digs per set.
SCOUTING NOTRE DAME
Notre Dame is 7-1, including wins in its last three matches against Boston College and Valparaiso. The Fighting Irish are led by Zoe Nunez and freshman Lindsey Miller. Nunez ranks eighth in the country and leads the ACC with 11.55 assists per set. Miller leads all ACC freshman with a .427 hitting percentage, which ranks third in the ACC.
Friday will be the 12th all-time meeting between the two programs, with the Wolfpack holding the 6-5 edge in the series. Notre Dame however won the last meeting between the programs, Sept. 29, 2019.
SCOUTING MIAMI
Miami went 5-3 in its fall schedule, including a split series against Florida State. Elizaveta Lukianova leads the ACC and ranks 18th in the country with 4.52 kills per set, while also ranking sixth in the conference in attacks per set. Priscilla Hernandez is the ACC leader with 0.45 aces per set.
NC State has won two-straight against the Hurricanes, including a 3-0 sweep against them at home in 2019. Miami controls the overall series 21-5, however.
