
Pack Tied for First After Two Rounds at Hootie Intercollegiate

NC State shot a tournament-best 12-under par score in second round to move up five spots

Awendaw, S.C. - The NC State men's golf team shot a team score of 12-under par in the second round Monday to move into a tie for first place of the Hootie Intercollegiate at Bulls Bay.
The Pack's second round team score of 276 is the best of the tournament.
Auburn is tied for the Pack at 13-under par. Missouri is in third place, one shot back. First round leader Kent State is in fourth place, three shots back of NC State and Auburn.
Benjamin Shipp led NC State on day two with a five-under par 67. The Duluth, Ga., native is in a three-way tie for second on the individual leaderboard at six-under par for the tournament and is two shots back of first place.
Max Steinlechner also shot in the 60s on Monday, shooting a three-under par 69 to move into the top-10 on the leaderboard in a tie for seventh place.
Easton Paxton and Christian Salzer both shot a two-under par 70 on Monday. Salzer is one-under par for the tournament and is in a tie for 17th place while Paxton is one-over par for the tournament and is in a tie for 34th place.
Carter Graf shot even-par 72 for the second consecutive day and is in a tie for 28th place.
Nick Matthews, playing unattached this weekend, is 11-over par for the tournament and is in a tie for 86th place.
The third and final round at Bulls Bay starts Tuesday morning with the first NC State golfer going off at 9:30 a.m.
