Wolfpack seeking third-straight Sweet 16 berth

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – With a spot in the Sweet 16 on the line, the third-ranked and one-seeded NC State women's basketball team (21-2) is prepped for a Tuesday afternoon NCAA Tournament meeting with eighth-seeded South Florida (19-3). The second-round matchup is slated to tip off at 3 p.m. EST (2 p.m. local) from inside the Alamodome.
The game will be televised nationally on ESPN2 with Jenn Hildreth and Kelly Gramlich on the call. Patrick Kinas will also have the call on WKNC 88.1 FM in Raleigh.

KAI "CLUTCH"FIELD
In NC State's last three NCAA Tournament wins (first round in 2021 and first and second rounds in 2019), guard Kai Crutchfield has hit 3+ three pointers in each. She shot 3-of-5 from long range against Maine in 2019, 3-of-4 against Kentucky in 2019 and went 4-of-5 from distance on Sunday against North Carolina A&T. In seven career NCAA Tournament games, the senior has shot 13-of-21 for a 61.9 percent success rate from long range. She averages 1.9 made threes per contest in the Big Dance.
GOING THE DISTANCE
All five of the Pack's starters average better than 34 percent shooting from long range, with each having taken at least 25 attempts this season. Four of those players average 1.2+ threes per game: Brown-Turner (1.6), Crutchfield (1.4), Jones (1.3) and Perez (1.2).
NC State tied the program record for made three pointers in a game with 16 against Pitt on Senior Day (Feb. 24). A total of eight different Wolfpack players contributed to the season-best 16-of-26 (.615) three-point shooting mark.
