NC State has won back-to-back team tournament titles

STATESBORO, GA – The NC State men's golf team claimed the team tournament title while Benjamin Shipp won individual medalist at the 41st annual Schenkel Invitational played at Forest Heights Country Club.
The Pack dominated the field as NC State shot the lowest team score on all three days to win by 27 strokes at 25-under par.
The tournament victory is the second consecutive win for NC State. It's the fifth team title for the Pack under head coach and Press McPhaul and marks the first time since the 2017-18 season that NC State has won multiple tournament in the same season.
Tournament-host Georgia Southern finished second while Furman finished third at six-over par.
Shipp dominated the field in winning the fourth collegiate tournament of his NC State career. The Duluth, Ga., native was the wire-to-wire winner as he shot the lowest score on each day finishing the tournament at 16-under par and 11 shots ahead of second place.
Shipp's score of 16-under par is the lowest score related to par in NC State program history. His total score of 200 is tied for the second-lowest score in a 54-hole tournament in program history.
Max Steinlechner continued his excellent play as he finished in a tie for second-place five-under par.
In his last three tournaments, the sophomore from Austria has now carded two second place finishes and a fourth place finish.
Christian Salzer finished in a tie for 13th-place at one-over par for the tournament.
Carter Graf was next for the Pack, one shot back of Salzer, in a tie for 15th place.
Easton Paxton rounded out the NC State lineup in a tie for 18th place.
Ethan Choi, playing unattached, finished tied for 33rd place at six-over par.
NC State returns to action Sunday, March 28 when it begins play at the Hootie at Bulls Bay in Awendaw, S.C.
