Pack in Fourth Place after One Round at General Hackler

Sophomore Max Steinlechner led NC State with a five-under 67 on Sunday

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The NC State men's golf team shot a team score of nine-under par to sit in fourth place after one round of the V1 Sports General Hackler Championship held at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club.
Sophomore Max Steinlechner is in a tie for fourth place after shooting a five-under par 67 in the opening round. The Austria native enjoyed a bogey-free round, collecting three birdies and an eagle on 15 to lead NC State. He is one shot out of the lead.
Benjamin Shipp is next for the Pack in a tie for 11th place at three-under par. The senior posted five birdies against just two bogeys to come in with a 69.
Eason Paxton shot a one-under par 71 to sit in a tie for 23rd place. The Riverton, Wyo., native had three birdies in the opening round.
Christian Salzer shot an-even par 72 and is in 34th place on the individual leaderboard.
Carter Graf rounds out the NC State lineup in a tie for 57th place after shooting a two-over par 74.
Ethan Choi, playing unattached, made his collegiate debut on Sunday and shot a 76 and is in a tie for 77th place.
Louisville leads the field after shooting a 13-under par. North Carolina is in second place, two shots back of the Cardinals and Kent State is in third place, one shot back of the Tar Heels. NC State is one shot back of Kent State.
Play resumes on Monday in the second round. The first NC State player tees off at 10:15 a.m.
