#2 Wolfpack Wraps Up Regular Season at Syracuse Sunday

RALEIGH – Second-ranked NC State women's basketball (16-2, 11-2 ACC) is set to conclude its 2020-21 regular season as it visits Syracuse (12-6, 9-6 ACC) on Sunday afternoon. Tip-off between the Wolfpack and the Orange is set for 12 p.m. from the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, N.Y.
The game will be televised nationally on the ACC Network, and radio broadcaster Patrick Kinas will be on the call on WKNC 88.1 FM in Raleigh.
A WIN ON SUNDAY WOULD...
• Be the 961st win in program history (960-473)
• Be head coach Wes Moore's 743rd career win (742-233)
• Be Moore's 185th win at NC State (184-64)
• Be Moore's 89th ACC win at NC State (88-39)

NOTING THE WOLFPACK (16-2, 11-2)
• Ranked No. 2 in the Associated Press Top 25 for the third week this season and been ranked in the national top five since Dec. 7
• Stands at second in the ACC behind Louisville (20-2, 13-2 ACC)
• No. 2 nationally and first in the conference in defensive rebounds per game (31.9)
• Paces the league in three-point field-goal percentage (16th nationally - .380), field-goal percentage defense (23rd nationally - .356) and rebound margin (23rd nationally - +8.3)

• Four members of the squad with scoring averages in double digits - Elissa Cunane (15.5), Jakia Brown-Turner (15.2), Kayla Jones (13.5) and Jada Boyd (10.4)
• Cunane and Brown-Turner both rank in the top 9 in the ACC with their scoring numbers
• Shot better than 50 percent as a team in a total of seven games this season
• Cunane (2nd - .564), Jones (4th - .526) and Brown-Turner (7th - .467) all rank in the top 10 in the league in field-goal percentage, with Cunane's number also ranking 18th in the nation
• Raina Perez (2.67) owns the ACC's top assist-to-turnover ratio and also ranks second in assists per game (4.9)
• Held five of its opponents to under 30 percent shooting and 13 of 18 opponents to under 40 percent
• Averaging 38.3 points in the paint and also a threat from distance with an average of 7.8 made three pointers per contest
• Put together three-point shooting percentages of 40 percent or better in eight outings, including two games with 50+ percent marks
SCOUTING THE ORANGE (12-6, 9-6)
• Currently ranked fourth in the ACC headed into the final game of the regular season
• Spent first eight weeks of the season in the AP Top 25
• Ranked first in the league in assists per game (16.7) and blocks per game (6.9), with that block average ranking second nationally
• Perfect 8-0 at home this season
• Beat Boston College on Thursday night to snap a two-game skid
• Freshman Kamilla Cardoso leads the Orange in scoring (14.9) and adds 8.4 rebounds per game
• Kiara Lewis (13.7) and Tiana Mangakahia (11.7) headline a solid Syracuse backcourt, with Mangakahia also leading the ACC in assists per game (7.6)
SERIES HISTORY (NC State leads 7-4)
• Thursday marks the 12th meeting between NC State and Syracuse.
• The Wolfpack has won its last three games against the Orange. Syracuse's last victory in the series came inside the Carrier Dome on Jan. 12, 2017.
• NC State has earned just one victory inside the Carrier Dome in program history. It brought the win home on its last trip to Syracuse in February of 2019.
• The squads last faced off in Raleigh on Feb. 27, 2020 in NC State's 2019-20 home finale. NC State did not trail in the outing on its way to the 69-60 victory that helped it to clinch the two seed for the 2020 ACC Tournament.
LAST TIME OUT
• NC State extended its winning streak to four games on Thursday night as it beat visiting Pitt by an 83-53 score in its final home contest of the 2020-21 campaign. It was the Pack's fourth game in a row with a victory margin of at least 19 points.
• The Wolfpack put together one of the best three-point shooting outings in program history, tying a team single-game record with 16 three pointers and shooting an impressive 61.5 percent from long range. Eight different Wolfpack players contributed to that number.
• All five of the Pack's starters hit double figures.
• Perez and Brown-Turner tied for the team lead in scoring with 14 points apiece. Cunane added 13 points and eight rebounds, and Kai Crutchfield (11) and Jones (10) hit three three pointers apiece on Senior Night.
• Perez knocked down a game-high four three pointers, which marked the most in her NC State career as she shot 4-of-5 from long range.
• Jones tied her career high and led the team with seven assists.
• NC State used a 15-0 run in the first quarter to open up a double-figure lead that it held on to for the rest of the outing. The Pack also scored 20 unanswered points in the middle of a dominant third quarter to extend its lead further and held a 26+ point advantage for the majority of the second half.
• In the game, the Pack forced the Panthers into 23 turnovers and scored 31 points from those mishandles. Twelve of those turnovers were steals by NC State.
CRUTCHFIELD CRACKING DOWN
A nominee for ACC All-Defensive Team, Crutchfield has seen herself matched up with some of the league's fastest and best players this season. A look at her last three defensive assignments, all in Wolfpack wins:
- Jayla Everett (Pitt): came into game averaging 14.9 points, Crutchfield held her to 2-of-15 from the field and seven points
- Stephanie Watts (UNC): came into the game averaging 16.6 points in the Heels' last five games, Crutchfield held her to 1-of-6 from the field and seven points
- Gina Conti (Wake Forest): averaging 15.4 points, Crutchfield held her to 1-of-9 from the field and four points
PACK ATTACK
On Packer and Durham on Jan. 25, Wes Moore described his 2020-21 squad: "We're a team. We're not just one player."
NC State has embodied that statement with:
• Four different players with overall scoring averages in double figures
• Three with ACC scoring averages in double figures, including two players who average more than 16 points against league foes
• An assists per game mark of 16.3, with 294 assists on 543 made buckets this year (.541 assist rate)
• Four different players who have posted at least one double- double this season - Cunane (5), Jones (4), Boyd (2) and Brown-Turner (1)
• Seven different players who have led the team in scoring in a game this season
• Five different players who have posted at least one 20+ point game in 2020-21, which ties as the most for one team in the ACC
• 13 of 18 games with at least four players posting 10+ points
