LIVE STATS
RALEIGH – The ninth-ranked NC State women's tennis team (6-1, 1-0 ACC) once again hits the road, this time for a top-10 ACC matchup against the fifth-ranked Florida State Seminoles (7-1, 2-0 ACC) on Friday afternoon. First serve from the Speicher Tennis Center is set for 4 p.m.
SCHEDULE UPDATE:
NC State was also slated to head to Miami for a Sunday match, but that match was postponed. The postponement follows positive tests, subsequent quarantining and contract tracing within the Miami women's tennis program. The program is adhering to the outlined protocols within the ACC Medical Advisory Group report, which is available on theACC.com (full report).
LAST TIME OUT:
NC State opened ACC action with a dominant 7-0 win at Wake Forest last weekend to extend its winning streak to five matches. The Pack won the doubles point for the fifth match in a row and did not drop a decision in singles action on its way to cruising past the Demon Deacons.
PACK IN THE RANKINGS:
The Wolfpack moved up a spot to No. 9 in the latest Oracle/ITA Division I Team Rankings. The squad has been featured in the national top 15 every week since Feb. 26, 2019.
New individual rankings have not been released. Prior to the start of the season, the Pack had four players featured in the singles and doubles rankings. NC State boasts two top-20 doubles pairs - Anna Rogers/Alana Smith (No. 2) and Adriana Reami/Jaeda Daniel (No. 16) - and three top-40 singles players - Smith (No. 23), Rogers (No. 35) and Reami (No. 38).
SCOUTING FLORIDA STATE:
Florida State's No. 5 ranking is its highest of the season, as the Seminoles have been ranked in the top 10 the entirety of the 2021 campaign. The team is a perfect 5-0 at home this year, with its one loss coming on the road to then-No. 7 Georgia.
Two Seminole doubles pairs are ranked - Victoria Allen and Petra Hule (No. 7) and Emmanuel Salas and Giulia Pairone (No. 50). Pairone (No. 27) and Allen (No. 106) are also ranked in singles, as is No. 92 Nandini Das.
UP NEXT:
NC State returns home for back-to-back matches next weekend against Clemson (Saturday, March 6) and Georgia Tech (Sunday, March 7).
