Easton Paxton finishes in Second Place at Sea Best Invitational

NC State finishes in fifth place as a team
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FLA. – NC State men's golf senior Easton Paxton led the Pack with a second place finish at the Sea Best Invitational held at TPC Sawgrass – Dye's Valley.
As a team, NC State finished in fifth place in the 12-team event.
Paxton, who led the event after two rounds, battled back from a tough front-nine to shoot two-under par on the back nine and complete the event with a final scorecard of 68-68-72.
The second place finish is the best of Paxton's career.
Christian Salzer had his best round of the tournament on Tuesday, shooting a 73 in the final round and finishing with a final score 75-75-73.
Max Steinlechner was next for the Pack in tie for 33rd place. The NC State sophomore finished the event with a three-round scorecard of 72-75-78.
After a tough Monday, NC State senior Benjamin Shipp rebounded on Tuesday, shooting his best round of the tournament and finishing the event with a three round tally of 75-80-74.
Nick Mathews, making his NC State debut, finished in a tie for 58th place with a final score of 74-80-82.
Competing as an individual, freshman Drue Nicholas also made his NC State debut at the Sea Best Invitational. Nicholas shot a 75-75-79 to finish in a tie for 44th place.
The Pack returns to action Friday, Feb. 19 when it begins play at the Seminole Intercollegiate in Tallahassee, Fla.
