NC State Set for Home Quad Meet

RALEIGH - The NC State gymnastics team will welcome George Washington, Oklahoma and William & Mary to Reynolds Coliseum on Friday, Feb. 19 for a 6 p.m. quad meet.

LAST TIME OUT
The Wolfpack made the short trip to Chapel Hill, N.C., on Feb. 12 for a dual meet at EAGL opponent North Carolina. The team posted a 195.025 score and tied its season-best bars score at the meet.
Sophomore Emily Shepard earned two individual titles at the meet, one for her 9.900 effort on bars and another after her 9.850 on vault. Her bars score tied her career best and marked the second time during the 2021 season that the sophomore has posted a 9.900 on the event.Â
NC State had a pair of bars competitors tie for second place on the event with Katie Cox and Meredith Robinson posting scores of 9.875. The mark was a career best for Cox and tied Robinson's career high.
Chloe Negrete earned a podium finish at the meet as well with a 9.850, and freshman Gabrielle Diaz made her debut in the event with a 9.700.
SCOUTING THE COLONIALS
George Washington competed in its first meet of the season on Feb. 12, meeting Towson in a dual meet. The Colonials tabbed a 192.950 that was highlighted by freshman Kendall Whitman's 9.950 on floor. The mark was good to earn Whitman East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Rookie of the Week honors on Feb. 16. Sophomore Deja Chambliss also hit the 9.9 mark on floor, posting a 9.900.
SCOUTING THE SOONERS
Oklahoma recorded its highest score of the season in its most recent meet, compiling a 198.225 at the Metroplex Challenge. Senior Anastasia Webb earned a 39.725 to win the all-around competition at the meet, a score that included a 10.000 on vault in addition to a 9.975 on beam and a 9.950 on floor.
The Sooners sit in the top eight on every event in the RoadToNationals rankings and own a season average of 197.075.
SCOUTING THE TRIBE
Friday's quad meet will mark the first competition of 2021 for William & Mary. The Tribe's roster features four seniors, including All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) honoree Katie Waldman. William & Mary concluded the 2020 season at No. 4 in the ECAC.
