RALEIGH – The NC State rifle team conclude its regular-season competition Saturday, posting a 4653 against Akron. Akron bested the Wolfpack with a 4674 score.
Travis Stockton continued to lead the Wolfpack, posting a team-high 1167 aggregate and 594 in air rifle. The team's highlight came from Makenzie Sheffield who recorded a career-best 587 in smallbore, which ties for the seventh-best mark in program history. It is the highest score from an NC State athlete in nearly two years.
Other personal-bests Saturday came from Ben Salas who tied his personal-best, 576, in smallbore and Roman Karadsheh who did the same in air rifle with a 583.
