Tuesday Storylines
- The Pack is returning to the Mohegan Sun for the second consecutive season. Last year, the Pack defeated UMass Lowell, 90-59, on Thursday, Dec. 3, inside Mohegan Sun Arena.
- NC State has had four different players score 20+ points in a game this season. Jericole Hellems (22) and Terquavion Smith (20) accomplished it against Bucknell, Casey Morsell (22) Dereon Seabron (21) did it Saturday against Colgate. Last season in 25 games, NC State had 12 20+-point performances total and only once had a game with two 20-point scorers in it.
- Valuing the basketball: NC State has only turned it over 14 times total this season. The Pack turned it over eight times against Bucknell and just six times against Colgate. NC State is +14 in turnover margin through two games.
- NC State is averaging 19 points a game off opponent turnovers and has outscored its opponents by 15 points this season in points off turnovers. The Pack has won nine straight games when it outscores its opponents in points off turnovers.
- NC State's first two opponents combined to hit 21 three-pointers, compared to just 11 for the Pack. NC State has been outscored by 30 points behind the arc this season.
- The Pack has made (32) 13 more free throws than its opponents have attempted this season. Casey Morsell with 17 free throw attempts has only two less than NC State's two opponents combined.
- Manny Bates injury means the Pack only has three players on its team that are 6'9" or taller available this year. Prior to this season, that trio (Ebenezer Dowuona, Jaylon Gibson and Ernest Ross) had played a combined 128 minutes of college basketball with zero starts. Dowuona, Gibson and Ross (playing in his first collegiate game) all played the most minutes they've ever played in a college game on a Tuesday night.
