
Track and Field to Compete at ACC Virginia Beach Challenge

RALEIGH - The NC State track and field team is set to continue its 2021 season Monday, Feb. 1 at the ACC Virginia Beach Challenge, hosted by North Carolina and Virginia.

NC State will send 38 student-athletes to the meet, competing in 19 events.
LAST TIME OUT
NC State had five athletes post top-20 national marks during competition at the Hokie Invitational across various events and took home multiple podium finishes.Â
Chris Alexander tabbed a 50'10.75" (15.51m) in the triple jump that sits at the thirteenth-best mark in the nation.Â
On the women's side, senior Michelle Cobb put up the eighth-best triple jump in the NCAA and the second-best in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) with a 42'10.75" (13.07m). Her mark was additionally good for a first-place finish in the event.Â
Von Douglas' 24'9.75" (7.56m) long jump not only was good for the sixteenth-best mark in the country but also the fifth-best in the conference. The jump was a personal best as well as good for second place in the event.
In the women's mile, five of the top seven finishers ran for the Wolfpack. Savannah Shaw took home first place (4:45.87) with a time that was the seventeenth-best in the nation and the top time in the conference. Sophomore Sam Bush claimed third place with a personal-best 4:53.57.
Akira Rhodes ran an 8.34 in the 60m hurdles that was good for the fourth-best time in program history. The time was additionally nineteenth-best in the country and second-best in the ACC.

NC State travels to Clemson, S.C., to participate in the Tiger Paw Invite Feb. 12-13.
