
McDonough, Torres Named DI Baseball Preseason All-Americans

RALEIGH – Tyler McDonough and Jose Torres of the NC State baseball team have been named Preseason All-Americans by DI Baseball, announced by the publication on Monday. Both players were named to the third team.
McDonough, an All-ACC honoree and Freshman All-American in 2019, returns for the 2021 season as a vital piece of the Wolfpack's outfield. Through his two seasons, he owns a .327 batting average with 103 hits and 55 runs scored. In his 77 starts, McDonough has not committed a defensive error.
Torres, who was tabbed a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball following the shortened 2020 season, started all 17 games last year at shortstop and was the only freshman on the team to start every game. He batted. 333 with 20 hits and 13 runs, and finished top four among the team in all three categories.
The Wolfpack was recently tabbed 13th in DI Baseball's Preseason Top 25 Poll, and is nationally ranked in three other major polls.
