
Nick Swiney Selected By San Francisco Giants In Second Round Of 2020 MLB Draft

RALEIGH – Junior pitcher Nick Swiney was selected by the San Francisco Giants with the 67th overall pick in the second round of the 2020 Major League Baseball (MLB) on Thursday evening. He joins teammates Patrick Bailey and Will Wilson on the West Coast, as Bailey was drafted on Wednesday by the Giants as the No. 13 overall pick and Wilson was recently traded by the Los Angeles Angels to San Francisco.
Swiney becomes the 20th player in program history to be drafted in the top two rounds. He is also the 112th player to be selected in the MLB Draft under 24th-year head coach Elliott Avent.
