#8 NC State Advances to Face #2 UNC at ITA National Team Indoor Championship

CHICAGO, Ill. – The No. 8 NC State women's tennis team (10-1) advanced to the second round of the ITA National Team Indoor Championship on Friday morning with a 4-0 sweep over No. 17 Princeton. The win marked the squad's third top-25 victory of the season, and matches the team up with second-ranked UNC on Saturday for a semifinals bid.
The Pack moves to 10-1 on the season for just the fourth time in program history (1986, 1995, 2013). Princeton drops to 3-1 on the season.
Down 3-1, top-ranked Anna Rogers and Alana Smith stormed back to take a 6-3 decision on court one as the first to finish in doubles over No. 47 Grayce Joyce and Daria Frayman. The win marked their fifth ranked doubles win of the season and the duo's ninth consecutive win.
With a dropped 6-3 match on court three for the Pack, the attention turned to court two. No. 14 Jaeda Daniel and Adriana Reami were deadlocked at five games with Brianna Shvets and Nathalie Rodilosso before taking the final two to clinch the doubles point. The duo trailed 5-3 at one point in the match.
NC State took four of the six first singles sets. No. 30 Reami continued her dual-season tear in straight sets over No. 71 Zoe Howard, as she recorded her 12th consecutive singles win and seventh of the season over a ranked opponent. Soon after, Daniel earned a win over Stephanie Schrage on court five, moving the junior to 9-0 this dual season.
On court one, No. 20 Smith earned a top-35 win over No. 34 Shvets in straight sets to capture the match for the Pack. She now leads the team with eight ranked singles wins on the season.
