Pack Powers Women’s Pentathlon in First Day of ACC Indoor Championships

The Wolfpack had two podium finishes in the women's pentathlon on Day 1 of the 2020 ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships today. The meet is being held at Notre Dame's Loftus Sports Center in South Bend.
Timara Chapman earned her second straight first-team All-ACC finish in the multi-events, with a second-place total of 3,896. She posted PRs in the 60H with an 8.80 and in the shot put with an 11.48m mark (37'8).
Teammate Mikieja Covington was third in the pentathlon, also clocking in with a personal best in the hurdles (8.54) and in the 800m (2:19.04).
Both Wolfpack Distance Medley Relay squads finished with All-ACC honors in Day 1. On the women's side, Dominique Clairmonte, Alexis Postell, Anna Vess, and Savannah Shaw finished third, clocking in at 11:10.97 – the second-best mark in program history. The men also took third place in the DMR, as Ares Epps, Junpai Dowdy, Tim Bason, Philip Hall ran a 9:48.16 – the eighth-best mark ever for the Pack.
The Wolfpack will be back in action on Friday at noon, beginning with the men's 5000m and the women's high jump.
