Track and Field to Compete at JDL DMR Invite, Virginia Tech Challenge

RALEIGH – The NC State track and field team is set to compete in its final weekend before the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships. The squad heads to the JDL DMR Invitational (Winston-Salem, N.C.) and the Virginia Tech Challenge (Blacksburg, Va.) Feb. 21-22.
TOP-16 NATIONAL MARKS:
NC State has three athletes that stand in the top-16 marks of their respective events. Cravont Charleston sits at No. 4 in the men's 60m dash (6.59), and Michelle Cobb (43'7.75", triple jump) and Kelsey Chmiel (9:10.74, 3000) sit at No. 13 and No. 16 respectively.
LAST TIME OUT:
The Pack competed at the Tiger Paw Invite, Valentine Invitational and Don Kirby Elite Invitational. On the final day at the Valentine Invite, Tim Bason set a new program record in the men's 1000m, crossing the finish line in 2:24.71. His mark outran Philip Hall's 2:25.08 set earlier this season.
