Kent Klyman Featured On NCBWA Stopper Of The Year Preseason Watch List

RALEIGH – Senior Kent Klyman of the NC State baseball team has been featured on National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's (NCBWA) 2020 Stopper of the Year Preseason Watch List, as recently announced by the publication.
It marks the second consecutive season that the Williamsburg, Va., native has been featured on the watch list. The award is given annually to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I baseball.
Last season, Klyman made 21 appearances out of the bullpen and compiled a 3.41 earned-run average along with five wins. He contributed to the Wolfpack's 11-0 shutout win at North Carolina on May 18, and collected saves vs. Pittsburgh and Radford on March 8 and May 3, in respective order.
The left-handed pitcher fanned 30 batters in 29.0 innings pitched during his junior campaign, highlighted by a season-high four strikeouts vs. UNCW on April 30.
The Wolfpack opens its season Friday when it hosts James Madison at Doak Field at Dail Park. First pitch is set for 3 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on the ACC Network Extra.
