Thursday marks the Pack's first matchup against the nation's No. 1 team since 2007

RALEIGH – The eighth-ranked NC State women's basketball team (2-0) is set to face its first road test of the season on Thursday evening as it visits No. 1 South Carolina (3-0). Tip-off between the Wolfpack and the Gamecocks is set for 7 p.m. from Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, S.C.
The game will be televised nationally on ESPN2, and radio broadcasters Patrick Kinas and Ashley Eli will be on the call on WKNC 88.1 FM in Raleigh.
A WIN ON THURSDAY WOULD...

• Be head coach Wes Moore's 729th career win (728-231)

SERIES HISTORY (NC State leads 19-11)
• Thursday marks the 31st meeting between NC State and South Carolina dating back to 1977. It is the first meeting between the teams since a matchup during 2011-12 non-conference play.
• At the beginning of November, the teams announced a home-and-home agreement. The Wolfpack makes the trip to Columbia this season, and the Gamecocks will return with a trip to Raleigh during 2021-22.
• The last time the teams matched up, NC State left with the 55-53 victory on Dec. 4, 2011 inside Reynolds Coliseum. Bonae Holston hit the game-winning jumper for the Pack with six seconds left.
• The series record is knotted at 6-6 in games played on South Carolina's home court. The Gamecocks have won their last two games played at home against the Pack, with NC State's last victory in Columbia coming during the 2004-05 season.

Thursday's game marks the first time since the 1980-81 season that the Wolfpack and the Gamecocks will meet each other while both ranked in the top 10.
Ten out of the previous 30 matchups between NC State and South Carolina have occurred when both teams were ranked in the national top 25. Four of those games featured a pair of top-10 squads. MAKING A STATEMENT
NC State is coming off of a 108-70 victory over NC Central during which the team posted its highest field-goal percentage since Nov. 23, 1990. The team shot 41-of-60 from the floor for its second-highest shooting percentage in 46 completed seasons of Wolfpack women's basketball.
The team's performance was its first time exceeding 100 points in a single game in the Coach Moore era. The last time NC State did so was with 102 points in a win over Longwood on Nov. 15, 2012. The Pack's 108 points also marked the most in a contest since the 1996-97 campaign.
NC State showed off its ability to move the ball and score off a variety of shot selections. In addition to its 40 points in the paint, the Pack hit eight threes and shot 44.4 percent from long range. The team assisted on 23 of its 41 made baskets.
