Pack Concludes Fall Season Against Virginia Tech

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State volleyball team is set to conclude its fall slate of games with a pair of matches against Virginia Tech, Oct. 29-30. The matches take place of the rescheduled games from Oct. 2-3. Thursday's match is to set to kick off at 7 p.m. followed by a 5 p.m. start time on Friday. Both matches will be broadcast on ACCNX. Attendance at this time is not open to the general public.
This weekend's matches serve as the conclusion to the fall portion of the season. Information about additional matches will be announced at a later date.
LAST TIME OUT
NC State (2-4) is coming off a solid weekend where the Pack picked up its first two wins of the season against Virginia, both in four sets. NC State had a triple threat of attackers, led by junior Jade Parchment. Parchment averaged 4.75 kills per set across the two matches, including 23 kills on Friday. Averaging 3.75 kills per set across the season, Parchment ranks 18th nationally and fifth in the ACC. Parchment enters the weekend with 678 career kills, 19 shy of entering the rally scoring era career top-10 kills at NC State.
The Wolfpack clicked as a team in Friday's match against Virginia with a season-high .324 hitting percentage, the highest team hitting percentage for the Wolfpack since Sept. 7, 2018. The .324 was also the third best hitting percentage in a four set match across the ACC this season.
SCOUTING VIRGINIA TECH
Virginia Tech (5-2) is coming off a weekend where they split a pair of matches against Duke, including a five-set win. Kaity Smith is the leading attacker for the Hokies, averaging 3.45 kills per set with a .252 hitting percentage.
As a team, Virginia Tech ranks third in the ACC and 18th national with 39 service aces, averaging 1.34 per set.
