Pack Posts Top Marks on Second Day at Texas Tech Invitational

LUBBOCK, Texas – The NC State track and field team completed its second day of competition at the Texas Tech Invitational on Friday. Michelle Cobb posted a top-five mark (43'7.75", 13.30m) nationally in the women's triple jump to highlight the Pack's performance, and Cravont Charleston ran his way to third-place honors in the men's 60m dash final with the third-fastest time in program history (6.62).
Sprints: Cameron Murray made his 60m hurdles season debut in fast fashion. The sophomore finished the prelims with a 7.99 clip, which qualified him for the semifinals. Murray also outran the ACC qualifying standard (8.12) with his prelim performance.
He then bested his 7.99 mark with a 7.94, the third-fastest time in program history, in the semifinals that was fast enough to earn Murray a spot in the 60m hurdles finals where he posted an 8.01.
Charleston continued the strong showing in the 60m dash. The senior clocked in at 6.66 in the semifinals to advance to the finals. In the final event of the night, Charleston crossed the finish line in 6.62 for a third-place finish and the third-fastest time in program history.
Jumps: Cobb continued to jump her way up the NC State record books on Friday. Her 43'7.75' (13.30m) mark set a new PR and currently sits as fifth-best nationally. The jump ranks second in program history.
On the men's side, Jamar Davis recorded a top-10 jump in NC State history (50'5.5", 15.38m).
