Track and Field Heads to Texas Tech Invitational

RALEIGH – The NC State track and field team is set to compete at the Texas Tech Invitational in Lubbock, Texas, Jan. 30-Feb. 1. Pentathlon competition kicks off the weekend on Thursday, and the Pack will be represented by Timara Chapman and Mikieja Covington in the event.
PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Michelle Cobb was named the ACC Women's Field Performer of the week after an impressive showing at the Hokie Invitational, as announced by the league office Wednesday. The junior recorded a 43'5.75" (13.25m) mark to take first-place honors in triple jump.
TOP-10 NATIONAL MARKS
Three athletes have currently hold top-10 marks nationally: No. 2 Cravont Charleston (60m), No. 6 Cobb (triple jump) and No. 9 Savannah Shaw (mile).
LAST TIME OUT
Philip Hall set a new school record in the men's 1000m race at the Hokie Invitational on the first day of competition, and NC State collected three event titles.
On the second day of the Hokie Invitational, the Pack posted five new person-best marks, and Charleston finished the 200m dash in 21.40 to take home first-place honors.
