
#8 NC State Advances to ITA Kick-Off Final

RALEIGH – The No. 8 NC State women's tennis team defeated Rice in a 4-2 battle in the ITA Kick-Off semifinal on Saturday at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center to move to 7-0 for the first time since 2013, and just the fourth time in program history. NC State will face 21st-ranked Florida on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the championship match with a chance for an ITA National Team Indoor Championship bid on the line for the second consecutive year.
Jaeda Daniel clinched the match for the team, rattling off two straight wins in the closing sets to take the win for the Pack.
The Pack took the doubles point, thanks to a quick 6-2 victory by the nation's No. 1 doubles duo, Anna Rogers and Alana Smith, followed by No. 22 Adriana Reami and Jaeda Daniel capturing their seventh ranked win of the season.
Senior Reami took the first singles match in quick time for her eighth consecutive win to bring the match to 2-0. Liz Norman dropped her first match in the last nine contests before Smith countered back and extend the squad's lead, 3-1.
The remaining matches went to three sets before Daniel prevailed to clinch the win.
