No. 17 Wolfpack Travels to Virginia for ITA Kickoff Weekend

RALEIGH - The 17th-ranked NC State men's tennis team heads to Charlottesville, Va. to participate in the 2020 ITA Kickoff Weekend Jan. 25-26. The team takes on Utah State Saturday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. and will face No. 23 Virginia or Memphis Sunday, Jan. 26.
The ITA Kickoff takes place at 15 sites across the country with four teams competing at each site. The Wolfpack is the two-seed in Charlottesville, following host Virginia as the one-seed. Utah State is the third-seeded team while Memphis comes in as the four-seed.
The Wolfpack is competing for a spot in ITA Division I National Men's Team Indoor Championship and will secure a spot by winning both matches during the ITA Kickoff Weekend. The 2020 Indoor Championship takes place Feb. 14-17 in Madison, Wisc.
LAST TIME OUT
The Wolfpack maintains a 4-0 record this season, highlighted by a 4-3 win over No. 17 Michigan Jan. 15. NC State's other three victories came against Elon, USC Upstate and Northwestern.
SCOUTING THE AGGIES
Utah State defeated Grand Canyon in a 4-3 decision Jan. 11 before dropping a match to Idaho, 2-5, Jan. 18. The Aggies completed the 2019 dual match season with a 19-9 record. The matchup marks the first meeting between Utah State and the Wolfpack.
UP NEXT
The Wolfpack continues road play, visiting Penn Saturday, Feb. 1 for a 12:30 p.m. matchup. NC State will then take on Princeton Sunday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m.
