
#14 Rifle Set for Pair of Top-20 Opponents

RALEIGH, N.C. – The 14th-ranked NC State rifle team is set for a pair of road matches this weekend against two top-20 programs. The Wolfpack will face off against its fifth top-10 opponent in No. 6 Ole Miss Jan. 25 before taking on No. 17 UT Martin on Jan. 26.
Last week, NC State faced off against then-No. 3 Kentucky and No. 12 Army scoring 4638 and 4629, respectively. Sophomore Emily Fisher continues to lead the Wolfpack as she recorded top 10-finishes in both matches. Zanti also took tenth place against Army with an aggregate score of 1160.
Ole Miss is coming off a season-high score of 4676 in a loss to then-No. 8 Navy last week. Navy edged the Cornhuskers by a narrow margin of one point. The 4676 was the third-highest total in program history. This season the Rebels have posted six top-10 scores in the school record book.
UT Martin will compete against NC State as one of three matches in three days, also taking on UAB and Jacksonville State this weekend. The Skyhawks last competed Jan. 11 against Murray State, putting up a 4592 aggregate score. UT Martin's Kaitlin Korinek took fourth with a 1,163 while Kalen Royal had a career-high 570 in air rifle.
NC State returns home for its final home meet of the season, Feb.2 against No. 8 Nebraska. The match also serves as the Wolfpack's senior day, honoring Zach Eisenberg and Zanti.
