Wolfpack Continues Success with 4-1 Win at Northwestern

EVANSTON, ILL. - The No. 23 NC State men's tennis team recorded another victory Friday, defeating Northwestern 4-1. The Wolfpack's record improves to 4-0 while the Wildcats move to 1-1.
NC State claimed the doubles point with the duo of Alexis Galarneau and Robert Turzak's 6-2 win over Dominik Stary and Chris Ephron. No. 32 Tadas Babelis and Yannai Barkai clinched the doubles point for the Wolfpack, defeating Nick Brookes and Simen Bratholm 6-4.
In singles, freshman Robin Catry was the first to win his match. Catry defeated Antonioni Fasano 6-1, 6-3. The Wildcats got their first point with Trice Pickens' 6-1, 6-4 win over Turzak.
Galarneau defeated a ranked singles opponent for the second time in two matches with a 7-5, 6-0 victory over No. 123 Steven Forman to put NC State a match away from clinching.
Freshman Martins Rocens got the winning victory for the Wolfpack, notching a 7-6(4), 6-1 win over Bratholm.

UP NEXT
NC State travels to Charlottesville, Va. to participate in the 2020 ITA Kickoff Weekend. The Wolfpack's first match will be against Utah State Saturday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. The team will then face either No. 10 Virginia or Memphis Sunday, Jan. 26.
