Wolfpack Travels to Kentucky for Quad-Meet

RALEIGH - The NC State gymnastics team travels to Lexington, Ky. for a quad meet with Kentucky, North Carolina and Lindenwood Friday, Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. The contest is NC State's first meeting with an East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) opponent this season in UNC.
LAST TIME OUT
The Wolfpack opened its season on Jan. 11 at Ohio State with a 193.800. Freshmen Chloe Negrete, Alexis Ortega and Emily Shepard made their collegiate debuts in the meet, and Shepard achieved top-three finishes on bars and vault. Junior Lauren Kent won the all-around with a score of 38.850.
SCOUTING KENTUCKY
No. 11 Kentucky's season began at Utah Jan. 3 with a 195.350 and 196.525 against Missouri at home Jan. 10. Among the Road To Nationals rankings, the Wildcats check in at No. 13 on beam (49.050), No. 17 on bars (49.038) and floor (48.975) and No. 24 on vault (48.875).
SCOUTING UNC
The Tar Heels started their season in Chapel Hill, N.C., last weekend as they took on William & Mary and posted a 194.775. The Heels garnered first-place finishes in all five events. Seven members of UNC's team are seniors while six are freshmen.
SCOUTING LINDENWOOD
The Lions' first meet of the season was a tri-meet with Illinois and Temple. Lindenwood's team score for the meet was 192.675, which was the second-highest among the teams.
UP NEXT
The Wolfpack will host its home opener Saturday, Jan. 25 at 4 p.m. against EAGL opponent Towson in Valvano Arena inside Reynolds Coliseum.
