Pack Set to Open Season at Gopher Invitational

Four golfers to make NC State debut this weekend

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State men's golf team will start its fall season this weekend when it begins competition at the Gopher Invitational in Independence, Minn.
Three-time All-Region selection and 2019 All-ACC member Benjamin Shipp leads the Pack this season. Shipp enters his year ranked fourth on the program's all-time stroke average chart at 71.66.
Also back for the Pack this season is senior Christian Salzer and junior Easton Paxton. Salzer appeared in 11 tournaments last season and had a stroke average of 73.18. Paxton appeared in every tournament for the Pack last season and finished third on the team with a stroke average of 72.86.
This weekend will mark the NC State debut for four newcomers for the Pack. Freshmen Spencer Oxendine and Max Steinlechner are both playing for NC State this weekend, while grad transfer Brett McLamb and freshman Carter Graf will play this weekend as individuals.
The tournament opens Sunday at Windsong Farm Golf Club with 36 holes. The Pack will start play at 8:45 am CT. The tournament will conclude on Monday with 18 holes.
The Windsong Farm Golf Club is a par-71 course playing at 7,368 yards.
