
Volleyball to Face Pair of SEC Opponents

ATHENS, Ga. – NC State volleyball continues its eight-match road swing with a pair of games in Athens, Ga. Sept. 19-20 against SEC opponents, Georgia and Arkansas. The Wolfpack face off against Georgia and Arkansas for the second-consecutive season as a part of the ACC-SEC challenge with ACC school, Georgia Tech, also in town.
The weekend opens Thursday, Sept. 19 with a 7 p.m. match against Georgia, followed by a meeting with Arkansas Friday at 4 p.m. Thursday's match will be broadcast on SECN+.
LAST TIME OUT
NC State is coming off a 2-1 weekend at the Appalachian State Invitational where the Pack picked up wins over Western Carolina and Appalachian State. Melissa Evans led the team with an average of 4.46 kills per set, including two 20+ kill performances. Evans is the only player in the ACC with more than one 20+ kill match this season. Additionally, she has recorded double-digits in eight of the nine matches this season and has done so in six-consecutive matches.
Kaylee Frazier continued to be a defensive force for the team in the back row, averaging 4.77 digs per set. The redshirt sophomore had a career-high 27 against Western Carolina and was named to the All-Tournament team for the third consecutive weekend.
SCOUTING GEORGIA
Georgia enters the weekend with a 6-3 record after going undefeated at the Duke Tournament last weekend. The Bulldogs swept Duke and Northwestern and dropped just one set on the weekend to American. Thursday is Georgia's home opener, as they have spent the last three weeks on the road. Georgia is 1-1 against ACC opponents this season, after falling to Clemson in its season opener.
Rachel Ritchie leads the Bulldogs with 3.19 kills per set, hitting at a .253 percentage. Defensively, Kendall Glover is averaging 3.71 digs per set while Kianna Young is the team leader with 19 blocks.
SCOUTING ARKANSAS
Arkansas is sitting at a 5-5 record and looks to pick up its first Power 5 win of the season. The Razorbacks dropped matches to Maryland and Princeton last weekend before picking up a victory against George Mason.
Freshman Jillian Gillen leads Arkansas with 3.70 kills per set while Ellease Crumpton has a squad-best .340 hitting percentage. Crumpton also leads the Razorbacks averaging 1.30 blocks per set.

NC State continues its trip with a Sunday, Sept. 22 match at Furman. The match is scheduled for 2 p.m. on the SoCon Digital Network.
